Where is Cornifer in Howling Cliffs?
Eastern Howling Cliffs. Come in through the northern Greenpath opening, climb the platforms, then take the right-hand opening.

The Howling Cliffs are technically available from the very start, since you can leave Dirtmouth to the west and drop in, but the area punishes an underpowered Knight. Wind pushes you, the platforms are narrow with long falls, and Vengeflies swarm. Most players come back here properly after Greenpath, with the Mothwing Cloak in hand.
Cornifer is in the eastern half, near the Greenpath boundary. Enter through the northern opening from Greenpath and climb the platforms until you find the opening on the right. The map is 75 Geo from Cornifer, 100 from Iselda. The Cliffs are more open than most areas and a lot of the space is vertical shaft, so the map is helpful mainly for finding the four or five side rooms.
Nailmaster Mato lives in a hut in the north and teaches Cyclone Slash, a spinning multi-hit attack, at no cost. He is one of three Nailmasters, and learning all three arts is worth 3 percent of completion. Also here: Joni's Repose in the far north west holds Joni's Blessing, a charm that converts your health to Lifeblood masks. Gorb is a Warrior Dream on a high ledge in the north, worth 100 Essence. There is a Grub, a Mask Shard behind a breakable wall, and a Whispering Root.
The Stag Nest sits at the top of the Cliffs. It is not a normal station: it only becomes available once you have opened every other Stag Station in Hallownest, and reaching it completes the Stagway network and the related achievement. If you have been ignoring stag stations, this is the reason to go back and open them.
The Cliffs also hold the Nightmare Lantern. Dream Nailing it starts the Grimm Troupe questline, which adds a tent to Dirtmouth, two bosses, four charms and 6 percent of completion. If you want the 112 percent run, this is a required stop. If you do not, you can leave the lantern alone.

Tips
- Come back after Greenpath. The Cliffs are rough without the Mothwing Cloak.
- Nailmaster Mato teaches Cyclone Slash for free. It is 1 percent of completion.
- The Stag Nest only opens once every other Stag Station is unlocked.
- Dream Nail the Nightmare Lantern to start the Grimm Troupe. That questline is 6 percent of the 112.
- Wind in the outer rooms shifts your jump arc. Aim short and correct in the air.
- Joni's Blessing suits aggressive builds but blocks normal healing. Try it before you commit notches.

Focusing curls you into a shell that blocks up to four hits while you heal, then it has to be repaired at a bench. Drop into the chest in the south west of the Cliffs, kill the right hand Elder Baldur and follow the tunnel.

Joni's Repose, Howling Cliffs
Converts your whole health bar to Lifeblood, raising max HP but making healing impossible. It rests on the corpse of Blue Child Joni in the upper Cliffs.

A floating head that fires expanding rings of spikes from the centre of the arena. Move in a circle and slip through the gaps in each ring, hitting him whenever you pass.

Hidden corridor in the Howling Cliffs
Dream Nail the large bug corpse past two breakable walls, then strike the brazier to light the lantern and summon the Grimm Troupe to Dirtmouth. Later, meeting Brumm here and destroying the lantern banishes the troupe instead.

Upper Howling Cliffs
A Lifeblood shrine holding the body of Blue Child Joni and the charm named after her. The Lifeblood cocoons here also top you up before the climb back down.
