Hollow Knight area maps
Hallownest is split into 16 mapped regions, plus four places the in-game world map never shows: the Abyss, the White Palace, Godhome and the Colosseum of Fools. Each area page below zooms the interactive map to that region and lists every grub, charm, bench, boss and secret inside it, along with where to find Cornifer and how much his map costs.

Suggested order
- King's Pass King's Pass is the short cliffside path you walk before the game properly starts. It teaches the nail, wall-less platforming and breakable scenery, then drops you into Dirtmouth. There is no map for it and no Cornifer.
- Dirtmouth Dirtmouth is the surface village built on top of the well that drops into Hallownest. It is your permanent hub: Iselda sells the Quill, map pins and any map you missed, Sly sells upgrades, and rescued NPCs move in here as you play.
- Forgotten Crossroads The Forgotten Crossroads is the hub directly below Dirtmouth and the first area with a real map. Cornifer sits in the west, the map costs 30 Geo from him and 40 from Iselda, and the corridors here lead to Greenpath, the Fungal Wastes and Crystal Peak.
- Greenpath Greenpath is the lush, acid-filled region west of the Crossroads where you fight Hornet and earn the Mothwing Cloak. Cornifer charges 60 Geo for the map, Iselda 80, and the dash you get here unlocks roughly a third of the early game.
- Fungal Wastes The Fungal Wastes sit below the Crossroads and east of Greenpath, full of spore-popping mushrooms and the Mantis Village. The map costs 75 Geo from Cornifer and 100 from Iselda, and the Mantis Claw here gives you wall jump.
- City of Tears The City of Tears is the flooded capital of Hallownest, the largest mapped area in the game and the location of two Dreamers-worth of content. Cornifer charges 90 Geo, Iselda 120, and the city connects outward to the Waterways, Crystal Peak, Resting Grounds, Kingdom's Edge and the Ancient Basin.
- Crystal Peak Crystal Peak is the mine above the Crossroads, full of laser-firing crystals, conveyor belts and seven grubs, the most of any area. Cornifer charges 112 Geo, Iselda 150, and the Crystal Heart super dash is the prize.
- Resting Grounds The Resting Grounds are Hallownest's graveyard, home to the Seer and the Dream Nail. Cornifer never comes here, so Iselda is the only source of the map at 75 Geo.
- Howling Cliffs The Howling Cliffs are the windy western surface region reached from Dirtmouth or from the top of Greenpath. Cornifer charges 75 Geo, Iselda 100, and Nailmaster Mato teaches Cyclone Slash here for free.
- Fog Canyon Fog Canyon is the pale, jellyfish-filled zone between Greenpath and the Fungal Wastes, and the home of the Teacher's Archives. Its map is the joint most expensive in the game at 150 Geo from Cornifer and 200 from Iselda.
- Royal Waterways The Royal Waterways run under the City of Tears: sewers, flukes and acid channels. Cornifer charges 75 Geo, Iselda 100, and Isma's Tear here lets you finally swim through acid.
- Deepnest Deepnest is the dark, spider-filled region in the bottom left of Hallownest and the reason the Lumafly Lantern exists. Its map is unusually cheap at 38 Geo from Cornifer and 50 from Iselda, because Cornifer is too frightened to have finished it.
- Ancient Basin The Ancient Basin is the bleak, grey region at the bottom of Hallownest below the City of Tears. Cornifer charges 112 Geo and Iselda 150, and the Monarch Wings double jump is here.
- The Abyss The Abyss is the pitch black pit beneath the Ancient Basin where the Vessels came from. It has no map, no Cornifer and no benches in most of its length, and it holds the Shade Cloak, Abyss Shriek and the Void Heart.
- Kingdom's Edge Kingdom's Edge is the ash-covered eastern frontier below the Wyrm's corpse, reached from King's Station. Cornifer charges 112 Geo and Iselda 150, and the King's Brand here opens the White Palace.
- The Hive The Hive is the honeycomb sub-area hidden inside Kingdom's Edge, guarded by hostile bees and Hive Knight. It has no map of its own and Cornifer never goes near it.
- Queen's Gardens The Queen's Gardens are the overgrown royal gardens in the west, full of thorns, acid and mantis traitors. The map is the joint most expensive in the game at 150 Geo from Cornifer and 200 from Iselda.
- Colosseum of Fools The Colosseum of Fools is the combat arena at the top of Kingdom's Edge, running three paid trials of escalating difficulty. It is not mapped, and its three trials are worth 3 percent of completion.
- White Palace The White Palace is the Pale King's dream palace, entered from the Palace Grounds in the Ancient Basin with the King's Brand. It is a pure platforming challenge with saw blades and spikes, it has no map, and it holds the King's Fragment.
- Godhome Godhome is the Godmaster boss rush realm, entered by waking the Godseeker in the Junk Pit of the Royal Waterways. It is not on the map and its five pantheons are worth 5 percent of completion.
